Hamlet's Castle

Hamlet's castle, also known as Kronbourg Castle, was built in Helsingor.  It was originally an army barracks, and then a prison.  It is also the castle Shakespeare's famous play HAMLET was based on.  It was hosted in the telegraph tower (a part of the castle) and guards and prisoners performed it.  The castle overlooks a strait, and ships passing through all had to stop.  A defense system called the Crownwork guarded the strait.  It consisted of catapults and cannons, and was added when the Swedish invasion showed the castle was far from impregnable.  This unique castle still stands today.
